Oct. 9, 1922 - March 4, 2009
Wilma Jean Kaiser Cassity passed away March 4, 2009 at her daughter's home in Vacaville. She is finally at peace, after fighting a long, difficult battle against Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).
As were her wishes, no services will be held. She will be cremated under the direction of McCune Garden Chapel and her ashes will be scattered.
Wilma worked at Santa Ana Naval Air Station and Mare Island. She also worked for Conger Realty, and was the Executive Secretary of the Solano Board of Realtors.
After retirement, she continued to do part-time bookkeeping for many more years.
Wilma was preceded in death by her husband, Verlin, who passed away Feb 26, 1985. She was also preceded in death by her parents, William and Ruth (Johns) Kaiser; her brothers, Loren Kaiser and Dr. Jack Kaiser, and sister Carrie Kaiser Hadorn.
She is survived by her loving children, Patricia Cassity (Ron) Brosio of Vacaville, William (Stephanie)
Cassity of Madison, Ohio, and Donald
(Kelley) Cassity of Sebastopol; grand-children, Zachary (Kelli) Stephens, Angela, David and Kristen Cassity, Deming and Renick Cassity; great-grandson, Bryce Stephens; as well as many nieces and nephews and extended family.
Wilma resided in Vallejo most of her adult life where she enjoyed many cherished friendships. In early 2008, she moved to Vacaville to live with her daughter and son-in-law.
It was her wish to pass away peacefully at home if possible. As such, in January '09 she was admitted into the Kaiser Vallejo Hospice Program, which provided much needed support to her and her daughter who was her primary caregiver over the last few months.
Thank you to our traveling nurse, Caryn Paylor R.N., Sarjeet Nagra, and all the rest of the Kaiser Vallejo Hospice staff for all your help and support 24/7.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Kaiser Foundation Hospital Hospice Department, 975 Sereno Drive, Vallejo, CA 94589 or the Community
Presbyterian Church, 2800 Georgia St., Vallejo, CA 94591.
